1) Corduroy Tactile
The critical feature of the corduroy surface is to warn visually impaired people of the presence of close up hazards, such as stairs, level crossings or the approach to on-street light rapid transit (LRT) platforms, etc. The tile consists of rows of parallel half-round bars that convey the message ‘hazard, proceed with caution’.

2) Blister Onstreet Tactile
The blister surface’s main purpose is to provide a warning to visually impaired people who, when encountering the absence of a kerb ‘up-stand’ find it difficult to differentiate between where the footway ends and the carriageway begins. This surface is therefore an essential safety feature for this group of road users at pedestrian crossing points.

3) Blister Offstreet Tactile
This product is also an essential for the visually impaired as the design has a flat topped dome set in evenly spaced rows parallel to the direction of travel along a transport platform. The offset of the domes indicates the direction of travel of the vehicle (train or bus.) It can also be used adjacent to safe carriageway crossings. The surface can be any colour other than red and is recommended to be a good contrast with the surrounding area to assist partially sighted people.
